Destination: Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada, is known as the "Honeymoon Capital of the World," but you don't have to be recently married to enjoy its beauty.

It all starts with the falls -- and there are many great ways to see them, including:

• Cruise on the Maid of the Mist (open from late April to October), which goes from the base of the American falls to the basin of the Horseshoe (Canadian) falls.

• Take the Journey Behind the Falls (open every day except Christmas, but the lower observation deck is closed from mid-December to mid-April) and watch as the Horseshoe falls crash from 13 stories down.

• Head to Queen Victoria Park, which offers blooming gardens as well as amazing views of the falls.

• Visit the Skylon Tower, which also includes a revolving dining room.

While the falls offer one some of the most spectacular views on earth, the golf here is pretty amazing, too.

The Rees Jones Course at Grand Niagara Resort is among the best golf courses in Canada. Thundering Waters Golf Club is a John Daly signature course that captures the high-risk, high-reward style of Daly. The Legends on the Niagara, which boasts two 18-hole championship courses, and Whirlpool Golf Course are also must-plays.

The fun, however, doesn't end when your round ends.

People take as many pictures of the floral clock, located on the Niagara Parkway, as they do of the Falls. Niagara Falls is also home to one of the largest butterfly conservatories in North America. Two casinos (Casino Niagara and Fallsview Casino) keep the action going all night long.

The best time to visit Niagara Falls is mid-May to mid-September. To get there through the air you have to fly into Toronto or Buffalo, N.Y. Getting across the border should take 10-30 minutes, but delays can make the wait two hours. Holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day) can also make the wait longer. Train is also a great way to get to Niagara Falls, especially the nine-hour ride from New York City.
