The latest addition to the Niagara Parks Golf Trail is steeped with tradition and history. Built along the mighty Niagara River just upstream from the majestic Falls, the Legends on the Niagara Golf Complex has been carved out of the historic terrain and is situated adjacent to the site of the 1814 Battle of Chippawa. This 45-hole golf complex features courses designed by award winning architects Doug Carrick and Thomas McBroom, with two 18-hole championship courses, a 9-hole short course, a putting course designed by Doug Carrick, and a 360-degree practice facility and teaching Academy designed by Thomas McBroom. The result is a golf complex that will provide a wide variety of golf experiences in the same location. The Carrick designed Battlefield Course is surrounded by a preserved, mature Carolinian forest, hiding its wide fairways and presenting the golfer with the intimidating optical illusion of a sea of sand traps ready to snare all but the perfectly hit shot. The McBroom designed Ussher's Creek Course has an understated look that blends with the natural landscape and presents seemingly endless challenges from even the most avid golfer. Several of the open holes have a definite Scottish links look, while others feature the meandering Ussher's Creek for which the course was named.
