Collicutt Siding Golf Course
About
Collicutt Siding Golf Club is situated just 20 minutes north of Calgary in Crossfield. The player-friendly course will appeal to players of all ages and abilities. The golf course offers two distinct nine-hole layouts with a straightforward front nine that is followed by a more challenging, links-style back nine. The golf course was created in large part by great community effort. Construction began on the front nine in 1994 with equipment, materials, and labor that was almost entirely donated. The back nine was added in 2003. The golf course operates as a nonprofit organization, benefitting the entire community. Though it may not be what you're looking for if you want a truly formidable test, the course is a prime example of prairie golf with natural grasses and pristine water features. In addition to the course, Collicutt also boasts the largest junior golf academy in Canada.

Great Course For Money but too slow
Tee times were too closes especially considering COVID-19
Great round for a great price
Was very sloshy from previous nights rain, but course is in great shape overall and the price was unbeatable!
Country Golf
Very enjoyable golf course, plenty of challenges.
I will play it again to see if I can improve my score.
Would have been very nice to have a scorecard since it was my first time playing the course. While I'll understand the Covid thing, this is the only I have experienced that does not have scorecards available.
Course was in good condition. Play was fine and the people treated us well. The weather was not great
Good course
It’s good course, greens and fairways are in excellent condition, however there is lack of marshals. It’s very slow pace and there should be someone to speed up much slower playing golfers.
Unfortunate circumstances
It is a shame that I have to leave this course such a poor review but the circumstances that unfolded today have left me no choice.
The general manager at this lovely little course is an absolute disgrace to this establishment and by the way he conducts business it won’t be long until the owners and members feel the ramifications of his actions. I have never met such a completely unrealistic and unprofessional person in my life.
A group of us, all middle aged men who take the game and rules of golf quite serious were finishing up the 5th green when what we could have assumed was the marshal but was the general manager was waiting for us as we finished. I greeted him with a “hello” and the first words out of his mouth to our group was “ you guys are walking from this point out”. I asked why and he proceeded to say we were doing donuts on the fairway and driving up the fairway, he had received calls about us doing so. I assured him that this was not the case and in fact we had been driving up the fairway but we were not aware that it wasn’t allowed as we must have not seen the signs. There was no starter and no one to let us know any fairways were closed. He said there were signs but I honestly can’t remember seeing any or I was caught up in the game. An honest mistake.
We were trying to have a civil conversation with this man as the group behind us came up and I asked the man in front of the him is they had seen us do anything wrong. The said “ no, not that we saw”.
I couldn’t continue to argue with the complete lunatic any further so we grab our bags and continued. 3 other staff members came up, apologized and gave us pull carts to finish our round. I’ll just quickly mention two of the people on the group have just come off of knee surgery.
I went into the club house and asked to speak to the manager after the round and waited for him to come downstairs. I started the conversation with an apology that in fact if we had misnunderstood that it was an honest mistake but his actions and the way he conducted himself were extremely inappropriate. He continued to stare at me, not take any remorse or responsibility for his actions and instead when I told him I woul be leaving a poor review. He handed me his card and said don’t forget to spell his name properly. I won’t mention his name personally because I am not a 5 year old child.
We were a group af fathers, who as I said take the game very seriously. We hadn’t even had a drink that day, we did absolutely nothing wrong to the degree where we were kicked off our carts and forced to walk. A simple civil polite conversation would have been more than enough. However this man couldn’t not ablige nor even begin to have a civil conversation.
It is a shame to the owners, the members to the frequent players who visit, My group and friends included. This man will destroy the reputation of this wonderful course.
Unfortunately until he is releived or replace no one I know will be golfing here. As I said unfortunate circumstances for a situation that could have been competed avoided.
This will probably fall upon deaf ears as this man is the general manager. Even his staff were afraid of him as they said they couldn’t say anything as they would be fired.
I hope this message reaches the owners or the members and something is done. Maybe it was a bad day For him but he took it out on his patrons which is completely unacceptable. While we are trying to support a local small golf course during a very uncertain time.
I’m afraid with this mans actions this course won the have a chance of surviving these times.
Great day
My wife and I played the course w/2 men and we thoroughly enjoyed it. One of the few times my wife was not intimidated while playing with 2 strangers. They were a lot of fun Thanks Terry and Shawn.
A great day
Other than a strong breeze, it was sunny and the course is in very nice condition
Hmm interesting critique. This certainly has not been my experience at this course where I am a member. I understand with the excess rain we have been getting a number of courses in the area have put into place strict rules in respect to golf cart usage and Collicutt is no exception. Signage is quite visible at this course in respect to where carts are not allowed so I find a little hard to believe none of the 4 golfers in this group did not see any signs over the course of playing 5 complete holes. I am walker myself and have witnessed on more than one occasion patrons (members included) not adhering to the rules put into place and more importantly not using common sense when face with wet conditions when driving their carts and yes on more than one occasion acting like a 5 year old when driving them.
