Edmonton Garrison Memorial Golf & Curling Club
About
Edmonton Garrison Memorial Golf & Curling Club is centrally located within 15 minutes of the Edmonton Area, St. Albert, Morinville, and Cardiff. It first opened as a nine-hole course in the 1950s. Since the second nine wasn't added until 1996, there is a distinct difference between the front and back nine that makes it feel like you're getting two golf courses in one. The front, the original nine, is a more traditional parkland layout while the back is a more open links nine. You'll face a different set of challenges on each. The smaller greens on the front are indicative of the time when it was built and the size will also test your shot placement skills. In contrast, Edmonton Garrison Memorial's back nine has large and undulating greens as well as more strategically placed mounding.

Bang for the buck!
Edmonton Garrison, formerly known as "Lancaster park", is a fun little course that delightfully provides homage to our Canadian military.

Everything was great. The only thing I found not acceptable is the lack of potable water on this course. This is particulary bad as you don't come back to the clubhouse after nine.
Hi, u429041746. Thank you for reviewing the course. Your feedback about water on the course is important to us. We are working to develop the best way to provide our guest with refreshments. We do allow outside drinks. We do not allow outside alcoholic beverages. You are welcome to bring your own bottled water, Gatorade, or another refreshment as long as it is alcohol-free. We are glad to see you rated everything else to be great during your game. We will continue to work towards an excellent experience by using your comment for guidance. Thank you for playing Edmonton Garrison Memorial Golf & Curling Club. We hope to see you again soon.
George’s green
I was very surprise how good the course looked . However the pace of play was quite slow after the third hole . The pace I was slow because somehow their was a group of six player together. Some had carts .some were walking .
And some were hitting from different tee boxes . We played through , which was great and at times can very concening or contentious. It all seems that the people golfing by way of the course or for a lack of experience have very little golf eticate . . Certain holes have different ways to get around the course but if you go the correct way , you won’t interfere with the group ahead of you. . I didn’t see a Marshall who could of remedy the situation or a golf cart food truck which is common in most golf course. . In the end I still enjoyed my round but will look elsewhere to play .
Hello, Vrgolf. Thank you for reviewing the course. We apologize for the delay of play during your round. This is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. With that in mind, we are working to best control pace and allow everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We will continue to look for ways to improve. Thank you for playing and we hope to see you again soon.

Edmonton Garrison Memorial G&CC
The Alberta Golf Association held the northern Alberta Seniors Qualifying round at the Edmonton Garrison Memorial G&CC. The course was a good choice...but somebody forgot to tell the weather gods to cooperate. Just 30 minutes prior to the start of the round the overcast skies darkened and the rain came down...and never let up.
This is a parkland style layout with a mix of tree lined fairways and wide-open areas that offered little protection from todays elements. There aren't any real elevation changes on the course which makes for an easy walk for those so inclined.
On this day the rough was thick and wet and guaranteed you an extra stroke on the card if you missed the fairway. From the seventh hole onwards finding relief from the standing water on the remaining fairways was an adventure in itself.
The greens were exceptionally good at holding most approach shots. Fortunately, the greens keeping staff had the foresight to cut the majority of pin positions on high spots on the greens. Greens were of varied sizes and contours. Putts rolled consistently.
I was fortunate enough to be in the second group out at 08:10. The groups out later were hit with the wettest of conditions. Needless to say, even with my good rain gear on I was pretty wet at the end of my round.
Edmonton Garrison Memorial G&CC would have received a higher rating but the wet weather made the course conditions extremely challenging. Hats off to the staff for looking after us.

Still one of my favourite courses to play
Consistent improvement in course condition. Presumably they have had a great greenskeeper the last couple of years as the course conditions are overall remarkably great.
Last two or three years enormous improvements in course conditions from T to green.
As nice as any public course in the area. In fact a cur above the average.
All personnel, check in & on the course, are friendly & welcoming.
Price of play has escalated such that play cost not as reasonable as in past thereby making the choice to play this course as compared to other courses no longer a slam dunk choice.
Not withstanding I still enjoy my visits to this course

Greens in good shape, I thought rough was a little long, May be with a lot of rain recently. Pace in front nine terrible,. The 4 some creating this quit after 9 and second 9 was very good. Cart paths need some improvements. Overall a nice layout.
