Cattail Crossing Golf & Winter Club
About
Located just five minutes northwest of Edmonton, Cattail Crossing Golf & Winter Club (formerly konwn as Hunters Green Golf Club) is spread across gently rolling terrain accented with a smattering of mature trees. At just over 6,500 yards from the back tees, the golf course doesn't use length to intimidate. The plentiful water hazards serve that purpose. Golfers will have to contend with water on 11 holes and your golf management skills will be tested with each one. Several holes present a difficult choice between going for it and laying up, a difference that could be between making par or adding multiple strokes. There are several tricky holes but the golf course isn't overly punishing for the high handicapper. The wide fairways offer some room for error. There is also a driving range available at Cattail Crossing Golf & Winter Club.

Watch Where You Step
Found the course, fairways and greens in good shape but would only give the course a fair rating because of all the goose droppings on any of the greens near water. CAN'T WE DO SOMETHING TO GET RID OF THE BIRDS. The mess on and around the greens is not only unsightly but it has to also be unhealthy. If you are trying to do a chip and run BE CAREFUL where you lay your clubs.
Played Redwater GC about three weeks ago and could NOT find a goose anywhere on the course
enjoy this coure
We play here a lot and the conditions this year are the best ever
Greens & fairways were good.
Hunter's Greens have come a long way and now looked to be in great shape. The clubhouse is also spacious and could be promoted to the closeby communities for functions. Keep up the good work to the staff at the course.
Getting back to the way it was
The coarse is getting back to the the shape it was in when it was built. The water is back (and so are the geese)
Very good value for the price.
Ed & Anne
We found the course in good condition, a lot of staff were out mowing, repairs on bridges, etc. Had no trouble finishing in less than 4 hrs. Would golf here again.
17th hole is toughest par 3 green to hit in Edmonton!
Course has come a long way in the last few years. Used to be bone dry fairways and greens. Ponds were empty. Still has a way to go, but they are definately headed in the right direction.
Pretty nice
The view of course was pretty impressived for me.it wasn't fully maintenanced but good enough to play.
Golf buddy
its ok to play there staff needs to learn customer service, its most important
At this time of the year this Course needs water
Greens are good but the fairways need water.
good value for the price paid.
Fair course for the discount price
Course was extremely dry and greens were fair condition. Some of the staff were abrupt and more concerned about constantly telling us that the carts were $10,000 and not to damage them. I must have heard it about 6 times before I even left the pro shop. The snack bar charged 2.50 for a small bottle of water and 2.50 for the kid size snack bag of potatoe chips. We will only go back if nothing else is available. Redeeming feature though was the amazing deal through golf now app. $29 for 18 hole and Pwr cart....maybe that's why the snacks are over priced :)
COMMUNITY GOLF COURSE
Flat course, some mounds probably formed from excavation of ponds. Gravel paths. Appearance of a local community golf course rather than one that caters to corporate traveller. Consider the regular rate high for the lack of quality but OK value using GolfNow rate.
A wildlife sanctuary adventure!
Nice layout in a wildlife reserve. Well stocked with bunkers and water hazards. Definitely good value for the money!
Excellent value, very casual atmosphere. Great for beginners.
Enjoyed Hunters Green in August 2013. The ladies staffing the clubhouse were very cheery and welcoming when checking in with my golfnow discount. Not all staff at courses welcome the golfnow discounts as it hurts them in double bookings sometimes. Not here though, they didn't mind at all. The course was dry and though a lot of areas required watering/maintenance, it was still worth the play. I've booked a second round here already.
This course is easy and fast paced
This course is fairly easy, and the playing face is just right for me. Fairway needs more trimming. Overall, this is a great course for beginners.
very open for any golfer
Had an enjoyable time, and the course looked very well kept. Greens were somewhat deceptive but challenging. Over all it was fun.
Could be a good course if they watered the fairways and did some necessary maintenance.
Could be a good course if they watered the fairways and did some maintenance.
The course needs work
I would play again at the price I booked with Golf.Now. For the money we paid it was okay. They would not allow carts on the course so we had to walk which was okay but they ran out of pull carts. We were not planning to carry our bags.
Staff are great, friendly and helpful. Course has improved immensely from years ago when I first played the course while under prior ownership.
Course needs some improvement on fairways and greens, but still playable. I like the course's layout. I anticipate with improvements over the next 2-3 years the course will be very popular. Much of the layout attracts birds and waterfowl.
Hunters Green is ok if you get a deal through Golfnow.
If you have to pay full tilt for a round at Hunters Green then it's questionable as to whether or not it's good value. The fairways are certainly not lush but are maintained. There aren't very many mature trees between the fairways and they are fairly close to one another so errant shots tend to find their way on to a parallel fairway. Some greens are close to the next tee-boxes so wayward balls can find their way near you as you prepare to tee-off. Some nets would be helpful.
