WARNING
We’ve golfed this course for years excellent layout. This year when we called we were told same special weekday rates as last year which was $42 each including cart; get there and cart NOT included so we decided to go out anyway. $57 each. Might as well close it down, sadly. Three foot thistle in sand mud, no rakes, weeds everywhere, cart paths growing in terrible terrible shape like they just don’t care. Don’t waste your time abd money. Very sad and disappointing. Hope someone who cares gets involved such a gem what a waste
Layout was excellent
The layout of the course was fantastic. Greens were very good and pin placements were very challenging. The rough might have been a little to long which affected pace of play, hard to locate your ball in the rough even around the green, if you were on the fairway all was good and the course was great. I would recommend to others, club house and pro shop could use some attention. All in all I thought it was good value would play again
Great course layout
The fairways and greens were in good shape. The rouge was terrible as we lost a number of balls while close to fairway. The sand traps needed a lot if work. It seems that staff neglected some areas, just enough attention to permit play. With some TLC could be a great golf course.
Enjoyable challenging course
It is overall in great condition. The layout is quite lovely and challenging for all level of players, greens are fast and good condition, The reception is friendly, golf cart are clean and good. I intend to play here at least two more and perhaps more before season is over as I enjoyed the course
lost balls legend
Easy to hit a stray one and when you do , not much chance o finding it here.
A different golf experience.
Many younger golfers demonstrated poor golf etiquette such as loud swearing, throwing of clubs, driving golf carts as go carts, and others. It was a different golf experience.
good value
this is a worth the drive course
Enjoyable challenging course suitable for long ball hittersI played this course
I have not played here for a few years. It is overall in great condition. A long course with Gold Tees for long ball hitters. I played the whites and that was plenty long enough.
The layout is quite lovely and challenging for all level of players. A country / rural setting. CN rail line running through the course with rail crossings to be abided by. Also interesting sounds of the train passing. Did not interfere with play however.
The course has undulations and tight / abrupt dog legs that require proper attention to manage the hole.
The reception is friendly. The club house could use some updating, but has its own charm.
I It is a 40 minute drive from the City but well worth the drive for a different and somewhat unique experience for a round a golf.
I intend to play here at least once more and perhaps more yet his season as I enjoyed the course.
The course uses electric carts which is lovely and suitable for the rural environment.
Gone down hill
I've played here for years and last year was terrible because the greens were very bad. This year they are coming back but are still bad. Fairways and tee boxes are poor. The course use to be a 4 but now it's quite poor. It has a lot of potential but needs work. The price on golfnow was very good and I'm glad I didn't pay regular price. I might play at the end of the year to see how it is
Ironhead
The price was great but the course could have used a cut as the rough and fairways were a little long.
Wouldn't play for free
Awful, awful condition. The fairways and rough are the same weed/clover combo I expect to see if an elementary school field. Decent enough layout but absolutely no care given to the maintenance of the course. The greens are either dead/dying or worn down to the dirt. I wouldn't play it again for free.
Need grass instead of weeds off of fairways!
Good layout and great location. staff was friendly. The only issue we had was with the rough off the fairways. They really require a lot of attention. We lost many balls that were in play due to the weeds and clover patches off the fairway. Overall this course has potential, it just requires proper maintenance.
Such a shame
This is a great layout - the holes are interesting and the design is really good with some stunningly good holes....BUT... bunkers are concrete, fairways are inconsistent, tee boxes weedy, and worst of all the greens are awful - bumpy, dead patches, not mowed regularly. I remember playing this course 10 or 12 years ago and it was great. Will not go back until hear it they are making an effort
Great layout
Overall the golf course has a great layout. The fairways and greens were nicely cut but the greens need some work and the facilities are poorly kept. However I would play this golf course again but it would be nice if the club house was maintain properly..
Great Value Good Course
Found a great deal on golfnow.com. The course had a great layout. The tee boxes were level, greens rolled nice, grass was nicely kept and not many bare spots. Cart paths could be improved and there was one tee box that could certainly use some TLC but overall it was the best value I've played in Canada.
wasting good real estate
I have played this course many times over the years and it depends on who is managing the course, its a great layout but there is no reason for the greens to be in such sad shape also the pro shop seem almost deserted,
Good Bones
Course in less than good overall condition.
The course does however have a good layout.
Great layout
From previous reviews, we didn't have high expectations for our round, but we were pleasantly surprised. Some of the greens had some dead spots, but most of them were in okay shape. A little slow, but consistent, so definitely playable. Some of the fairways were in great shape, but no sand in the carts for filling divots. The layout of the course is great. We really enjoyed our round. A little tlc and this course could be one of the best around.
Nice layout noaimtemance
Beautiful layout but course has shody maintenance. Greens are terrible. Mid august and not grown in and not overseeded to repair.
Worse condition of any course I've seen this year and many previous years
