Montgomery Glen Golf & Country Club, formerly known as Wetaskiwin Golf Club, is a challenging championship design that measures 6,537 yards from the back tees. The fairways are open and mostly flat and when combined with the seemingly mild length, the golf course can give the appearance of being easy but the generous use of water and trees throughout the layout would indicate otherwise. The par-4 12th is the signature hole. A creek borders the entire right side, forcing golfers to carry over water on both their tee and approach shots in addition to maneuvering down a narrow, tree-lined chute. It's a tough hole but not the golf course's most difficult. That title goes to the third hole, another par 4 that also has water to the right. The elevated green is the trickiest aspect of this hole though.
