gorgeous spring day
checkin girl and wayne the owner are very friendly, course is dry, unfortunately no mention from golf now they were aerating and sanding the greens, will go back in a couple of weeks time
Could be a great course
This place could be a lot better with minimal effort. Proper leveled tee boxes, branches and debris removed, signs to direct you to the next tee off area, cart paths that aren't downright dangerous, yardage markers. You get what you pay for . . .
Adventure Golf
This is not a course for most golfers. It’s different than any other I’ve played. It’s a labour of love course, homemade with good family history and local pride. It’s built into the existing landscape with rolling fairways and deep woods surrounding each hole. I used a GPS app which was essential for determining the layout and ideal strategy. It also came in handy a few times in finding the next tee. I walked with a push cart and the back 9 was a strenuous hike over steep rocky and rooty trails. The greens are rough. If you miss the fairway, in most cases your ball is gone. I lost quite a few. But the layout is so unique and often majestic that the course is well worth playing. It feels like a course from the early days of the game. There was almost no one else there and I could take my time on each hole, playing a couple of balls here and there and plotting good shots. If there had been a crowd, it would have been dicey as a lot of the drives are blind and you can’t tell if groups have cleared. Don’t let bad reviews keep you away - it’s easy to criticize but if you like courses with character where no one pushes you, this is a great spot. The value is amazing and the rewards for great shots are huge. I’ll be back for sure.
Booked for Special tee time..
I knew I had to get a Power cart in this course.
They charged 40 dollars for even single player like me..
The course is rough shape..
Please avoid to play there if you can.
Most likely the worst course I’ve ever played.
New to BC so just used golf now as a tool to find a course to play. Most reviews focused around the dangerousness of the cart path so we decide “how bad could it be” and decided to try it. The course should be embarrassed that they charge money to play here. Course conditions are as bad as I’ve ever seen, the carts are decrepit and the paths are more dangerous than any review could do justice. The girl at the “pro shop” was friendly, there was a cute puppy and the course could be good if they spent an entire mess of money. The views and trees are great. Please don’t waste your time or money playing there.
Waste of my nonrefundable money.
It started with the entry into the golf course driveway. The signage is absolutely horrible, rotten, paint is barely on it. The driveway up to the parking lot is gravel with pot holes everywhere. You drive past a golf cart graveyard or mechanical shop. The parking lot is partially paved, but you can not tell if you're in a parking spot or is it just park as you wanna. Next we rent a golf cart for $40. ($20 per person she says to me!) The golf carts (ALL) of them are disgustingly filthy. We start to drive the cart, its very loud & rough running,it doesn't go very good at all...the cart goes twice as fast in reverse and we wonder the entire time if it's even gonna make it til the end. Around the 2nd hole we actually find the true golf cart graveyard in the mists of the trees. The tee boxes are not very well marked out, some of the tee box posts are broken and hidden away. Some of the flag sticks are broken and only have less than 1' of pole in the hole. We even got lost on hole #8 looking for the tee box when we ended up on the #10 Green. We turned around and went all the way back to finally find the tee box. Tee off only to discover that there is two tee boxes at the same point for holes #8 & #10. We were so absolutely disappointed with this golf course that we decided to leave without even teeing off the #8 hole. So we paid for the 18holes & a golf cart rental only to play 7holes and waste of a day off of work aswell.
Not good.
The course is ok., But powercart is too old doesn't start.and cartpath also very dangerous to drive. And there's no yardage mark. Very disappointed.
Dangerous cart paths.
I’m surprised they don’t make you sign a waiver. You could roll over your cart on the treacherous cart paths, if you can call them that.
No excuses
Good deal on golf now but our round was cheaper than the cart rental. $40 for two people is a bit outrages. The carts are junk the cart paths are water flow ways the hills are dangerous your lucky to get a round with the cart surviving. Lots of break downs and broken down grass cutting equipment broken down in the middle of the fairways. I’m really upset with management. They weren’t this expensive before Covid now they have become absolutely stupid with their pricing . Not a fair price for a 3rd rate course
Don't do it.
The worst round I've ever had. The course has potential but its like they perform no upkeep at all. The fairways are uncut with areas that are swamp like. The cart paths are overgrown with branches in your face guaranteed no matter where you are. Even worse, the carts are so wimpy, you can't even make it up the hills on the paths. While my buddy was pushing from behind I was one leg pushing and driving to get it up the hills. Had a couple near misses and injury. Some? we just gave up on and found detours, skipping holes. When I asked if it was normal there on the way out? The girl giggled and confirmed that is standard there.....then silence. No apology, no concern, no nothing. Ridiculous. If they took care of business id go back but as is? It feels like manual labor.
BE AWARE... I booked the course, paid my money, drove out to both gates; the course was closed due to Covide-19. Now I have to try to get my money back...cheers
Be AWARE, this course took my money online. When we got to the course both gates were locked with the CoronaVirous-19 sign, posted on the gates. Now I'm getting a total blank regarding the return of my money. Why is the site active on GOLFNOW?
What Happened??
You can tell there was once a golf course here and it was probably quite nice. There's some resemblance of where the fairways used to be and depressions where you could envision sand traps years ago. It's hard to tell when they stopped maintaining it; 1 or 2 decades ago if I had to guess. When you see the golf carts you won't believe they run. I'm not sure why this hasn't been converted to a camp ground yet. This course doesn't belong on GolfNow and damages the brand. I'm sure the locals know what they're getting into but GolfNow users who like to explore shouldn't be exposed to this disaster. I wouldn't play it again for $0. It's that bad. I gave the staff a 5 star but don't take that literally. I didn't encounter any staff except the 1 person working the pro shop, or whatever you'd label the building she was in. Pace of play would have been great since there was no one on the course but you'll be slowed down looking for your ball on the "fairway" every hole.
A Pasture
Some people may say it’s a good bang for your buck, but it really isn’t. I booked a hot deal for 10$ and still felt ripped off. I wasn’t expecting much at all and was still extremely underwhelmed. It does look like they have had any grounds grew in a few years. Fairways are basically non existent, several large gravel patches on the greens which seemed bizarre. Every cart was full of wet cigarette butts and filthy. Wouldn’t play here for free or recommend unless you are looking to get trashed and hack so grass.
If you value your golf game don’t go here
30 years golfing at the The Mountain
We love this course it’s a very challenging layout and you need to have played it a lot to understand all of its ebs and flows !! Very reasonable green fees but the power carts are in bad shape overall my wife and I are regulars and it’s a great place to practice your game plus we always pack a lunch with a couple of beverages to get us thru our round !! Thanks to the owner Wayne for keeping this place going on a shoe string budget can’t wait for our next round
New carts
The carts are in terrible shape, one of ours just stopped working on the 15th .
