Granite Pointe Golf Club
About
The first nine holes of Granite Pointe Golf Club were built in 1920 and were later joined by a back nine in 1993 that tumbles through the mountains. The layout features a number of risk-reward holes that require accurate shot-making. The golf course begins with rolling parkland and offers wide, player-friendly fairways but then becomes progressively more challenging as it winds through the mountains. There are several elevated tees on the back nine that offer spectacular views of Kootenay Lake and the Kokanee Glacier. Holes 15-17, known as the Three Aces, offer some excellent scoring opportunities. The par-4 16th is touted to be one of the best holes in BC. The golf course finishes with its signature hole. This par 4's trademark is the massive granite boulder that partially blocks the view of the home stretch.

Great vistas
Difficult to walk unless you're into fitness. Challenging fairway lies.
Granite Rocks
Granite pointe is an amazing course. Not super long but you need to play accurate shots to score well. Not many flat lies so approaches on most holes can be very challenging even after a great drive. The views of the lake and mountain are unbelievable. Greens are in fantastic shape, staff is great and the food in the clubhouse is excellent.
Great game
I haven't played this course since last year. I have to say I was very impressed with the condition of the course. The greens were in great shape and the overall course was well kept. Much better than last year.
A bit disappointed in the beverage department. We stopped for a beer after the game and two sleeves were $12.50. Down town that same beer can be bought in the bar for 3.75 a piece. A bit much.
beatiful scenry
Staff were normal, not real helpful. Coarse is as bumpy as skiing down the expert mogul run at a ski hill. You almost lost your teeth riding the golf cart. Cart rental was $40.00 for 18 holes and it wasn't in very good shape. Greens were super fast. It was like putting on the sidewalk. Fairways were narrow and quite hilly. Big old trees had roots growing out of the ground and there were lots of large rocks in middle of fairway. This is definitely a mountain golf coarse, do beware.
