Great conditions .. mid October ..
The course was in great shape for mid October, just north of Toronto. Quite a challenging layout, which is great. A great round, not necessarily the score.
Beautiful Hockley
Wonderful. My friend and got to golf alone.
Only issue was there was no food at the halfway mark.
A challenging course - indifferent service
Not that well signed so if you have never played before, that adds to the challenge as you are playing blind. A good test of golf even though there is no sand traps and not much water, but uphill for much, undulating fairways; 6 par 3s, many elevated.
Service was underwhelming.
Hockley disappointment
Played this course for the first time after wanting to play for many years. I had been told it was somewhat difficult and tight. As a 15 handicapper who can "spray" it a little, I expected it would be tough for me.
I was underwhelmed in many ways that day. The initial reception as we entered the site was cool. No personality by our greeter and no real direction for what we needed to do with our clubs as we were there early. To the pro shop to check in. The pro was who we spoke to with zero personality. We asked a few questions as it was our first time there and got little feedback. The "saving grace" to our round was our starter, Ken. Finally someone with personality and he was fantastic, giving us direction not only for the first hole but for the upcoming second. Thanks Ken!
The course was disappointing. Many times during the round my partners would comment, "it has potential if they would just invest some money into it". Cart paths need resurfacing. Long overdue and extremely bumpy. Course set up is a bit "gimmicky". Some of the views are great. 6 par 3's and most of them with elevated tees, some with 300 foot drop from tee box to green, That was the most impressive part of the round.
All in all our group gave it a thumbs down rating and agreed we would not return.
For the course, take the feedback for what it is. Invest some money and you can regain your status. Just a real "tired" track.
golf
course in excellent shape. hit the ball straight or forget it.very challenging approach shots and excellent greens staff and marshalls very polite and helpful
Such a great course to play
Awesome course and would highly recommend to others. Very well kept and amazing scenery while playing. 5 stars!!!
Hockley Gem
Short, but challenging course on sloping countryside. Lots of interesting holes…par 3’s and 5’s aplenty.
Something for everyone.
Slow 4-some in front of us, but course assistant urged them on at the turn and things improved.
Hockley Valley
An excellent day. As a twosome we were let past a 4some. The day sailed along. Lovely weather, the course plays longer than the 6400 yd tees we played. Many forced carries and elevated greens. Lots of slope on the greens too. A wonderful day at a good price.
Hockley Valley
Course was in great shape. Pace was a little slow. We were allowed to play through a 4some and sailed around the rest of the day. This course is quite hilly and plays longer than actual yardage. Its beautiful in the fall when the colours change. Definitely recommended.
