Marks sixth major course project for Evans in Ontario tourist region

ORLANDO, FL - Evans Golf is pleased to announce it has been commissioned to build a new Faldo Design golf course in the Muskoka region of Ontario.

Work will begin immediately on the par-72, 6,800-yard course in the picturesque tourist region between Lake Rosseau and Bruce Lake near the village of Minnett for Ken Fowler Enterprises of St. Catharines, Ontario, an entrepreneurial investment business with numerous investments in North America.

The course, tentatively named Granite Shield, is scheduled to open in June/July 2003. The site is part of the Lake Rosseau Beach Resort, which is to be upgraded to a four-star resort with the inclusion of the new Faldo Design golf course.

"We are honoured to be commissioned to build this Faldo Design course, and to continue the tradition of producing quality golf courses in the beautiful Muskoka area," said Craig Thompson, President and CEO of Evans Golf.

The Faldo course is the sixth major golf course project in Muskoka for Evans Golf following the construction of Deerhurst Highlands, The Lake Joseph Club, Rocky Crest Golf Club, The Mark O Meara Course at Grandview Golf Club and Bigwin Island. Cleveland-based golf architect Brit Stenson is working with Nick Faldo on the design of the course. Mr. Stenson worked with Mark O Meara on the Grandview course.

Muskoka is a difficult place to build golf courses because the base is solid granite. The site is gentle to moderate in topography with rock outcroppings on at least 13 holes, thick woodlands and scenic vistas.

Evans Golf with offices in Orlando, Toronto and Vancouver is one of North America's first established golf course builders successfully completing more than 150 18-hole projects during the past 40 years.

Evans Golf is a member of the Golf Course Builders Association of America, the National Golf Foundation and the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America.
