Andersons Creek Golf Club in Cavendish sits on one of Prince Edward Island's more interesting pieces of land for golf
CAVENDISH, Prince Edward Island, Canada -- Andersons Creek Golf Club is a modern course by Graham Cooke and plays 6,651 yards from the championship tee box, while there are three forward sets of tees playing as short as 5,236 yards.
Andersons Creek G.C. has one of the island's more interesting pieces of land for golf, even if the first impression might not show it. The clubhouse and first few holes play on mostly open, flat land. Then, the third hole heads into a forested ridge line, where the bulk of the course's holes lay. Playing up and down through mature forest, the golf course winds along Andersons Creek, requiring shots played over water four times. Each nine begins and finishes in the flatter, open land, but the holes on the other side of the trees are a real joy to play, and are as quiet and rural of a setting as PEI offers.
Andersons Creek Golf Club has a driving range, pro shop and bar, while carts are equipped with personal GPS units. It's also a sister course to the nearby Green Gables Golf Club in Prince Edward Island National Park, making 36 holes between the two in one day very easy to do.
