St. Thomas Golf & Country Club in Union, Ontario has undergone quite a few metamorphoses. One of the oldest golf courses in southern Ontario, it began in 1899 as a crude nine-hole layout.
In 1927 the old track was replaced with a new 18-hole course designed by well-known Canadian architect Stanley Thompson. Steadily upgraded since then, St. Thomas is now perennially ranked among the top 100 courses in Canada. Score Golf magazine, the definitive ranker of all things golf north of the border, rates St. Thomas 59th on its latest list.
