Wooden Sticks Golf Club near Toronto
Wooden Sticks Golf Club in the greater Toronto area features a collection of holes inspired by the most famous holes in golf, as well as some original designs by architect Ron Garl. The golf course is in an upscale property that receives a lot of corporate play during the week and features five sets of tees, a large clubhouse and superb conditioning. The terrain is gently rolling and set on sandy soil.
Eight of the 10 holes are replica holes from courses such as Augusta National, St. Andrews, TPC Sawgrass, Carnoustie and Royal Troon. Also, three holes are loosely inspired by Pine Valley, and the starting hole features a "church pew" bunker in the spirit of U.S. Open host Oakmont. There are some other little touches here, like a Masters-style scoreboard behind the par-5 fourth, which resembles the 13th at Augusta.
Wooden Sticks is located in Uxbridge, about 30 miles east of Toronto. It's also part of the Highlands Golf Trail, a cooperative of six upscale golf courses in the area.
