Located in Drumheller, Dinosaur Trail Golf & Country Club is situated in the heart of the Badlands. The course's wooded terrain provides a striking contrast to the surrounding desert-like landscape. Jagged hills sprinkled with ancient boulders and cacti provide a setting that is truly unique. The site is home to dinosaur bone beds that date back 75 million years, which is where the club gets its name. The golf course was carefully constructed around these beds and the 11th hole was even reconfigured so as not to disturb the possible dinosaur skeletons embedded in the hillside. The layout has a player-friendly front nine, which you'll want to take advantage of because the back nine is much more challenging. Dinosaur Trail's final nine holes are even known for being one of the area's toughest closing nines.

A very unique experience

This course was something else! The front 9 is all flat, very lush and green. The back nine is incredible. It’s really hard and basically target golf but worth the view.

Back 9 is very unique

The front nine is nice, well kept and in good condition. The back nine is where the fun starts. What a cool, unique and challenging set of holes. Will definitely be playing here again!

Classic & Challenging

First 9 - pretty standard prairie track.
2nd 9 - tricky, leave the driver in the trunk. Beautiful scenery. Building the fairways into the badlands was no easy task I'm sure. But it was worth the effort. Staff very friendly & accommodating .

Overcast & Windy

Not the best weather conditions to play in but the course was in decent shape. Aside from a few greens covered in poplar saplings which I attributed to the wind; they were playing firm. A great round nonetheless. Great staff.

Scenery plus

Check in was quick. Staff was great. Front nine is supposed to be easier but you cant go too far offline because of beautiful big old trees lining fairways. Conditions were lush and green. Greens are small, nice, very fast but receptive. Going under highway up to top of 10th teebox is easy to be overwhelmed by scenery/views. Its just really cool up there. This is more of shotmakers nine so pace of play will slow down a touch due to extra navigation. Its all about ball placement and club selection. Conditions again V good with greens much more undulating. Enjoy the views, count on some 3 putts and lost balls particularly for 1st timers……..and maybe 2nd timers. Gas carts as well as cart paths showing a little age but we do wish course was closer to home so we could play it every weekend.

Unique course

Great course to visit. Front nine is nice and not too difficult and easy to keep a good pace. Back nine is quite difficult but worth it for the view.
