Had been to this facility a few weeks prior for lunch and was appalled at the extremely poor service in the bar/restaurant.
We had to accost a staff member after a long wait of being ignored. After our round this week we were wanting refreshments and once again visited the bar. Incredibly we met with the very same response. Nothing! After about 15 minutes of again being ignored we got up and left. Unfortunately it left a poor taste about the overall experience so we will not return for golf at any price and will not patronize their useless bar/restaurant in the future. Others at the restaurant were also complaining about the lack of service. Someone needs to take a really hard look at how they treat their customers. It's a beautiful property with lovely gardens and stunning architecture but does not come anywhere close to to living up to its image.
Course conditions
Generally the course is great shape BUT when we played the greens had been punched several days before and were bumpy, The sand traps are the worst feature on the course so much so that I question whether I /we will play again.
Great Value
Great late afternoon rate, finished just before dark. Great layout lots of interesting holes.
Beautiful
Course in fabulous condition. Weather perfection! Golf Now rate included power cart and 5:50 tee off which would have been perfect... but it was Mens' night... hurry up and wait through the first 9 then a scramble to finish the back 9 and still see your ball.... but we will be back!
good value from golfnow
$ guys had a load of great laughs and many great shots. Course in great condition and only the slow foursome ahead of us prevented a absolutely perfect outing.
Lovely Course
Although we were struggling for Karen to get a cart, she finally got home for us. We were very happy as we usually walk, but this was our first time playing Crown Isle. It is a very lengthy course to walk. So thank you Karen. We played with a nice young couple and were well matched. Loved the course.
Great Hamburger and chowder in the restaurant.
decent course for all players
No complaints about the course as I got a great deal at 36.00. Only complaint is the people I'm paired with as they have no etiquette and can't play golf. Wish I could be hooked up with actual golfers.
I didn't come across a food/beverage cart or one didn't come across us. We survived though.
Crown Isle
Nice resort type course. Wide fairways course was in good shape lots of sand traps with not much sand in them. Greens were good and fast.
A true champion course
Crown Isle is a true championship course. The tee boxes were very well taken care of with all divots repaired and completely level.
The fairways are the best I have ever played, completely groomed and fully symmetrical.
Greens! Well, if you have ever read and green perfectly, only for your putt to roll straight through all breaks and past the hole. You will be humbled to play the greens at Crown Isle. These greens will make you feel like your part of the PGA Tour as you watch your putt ride your line straight to the hole. It is a true confidence enhancer.
Now for the course layout, this is in no way a bomb and chase course. You will have to navigate many well thought out and placed hazards, bunkers and tall trees in order to reach GIR. But, you will be greatly rewarded for those efforts if you can think 1 to 2 shots ahead. I am a 15-20 handicap player, and with a thought out plan for each hole, I was able to play this course 3 times with a 84, 84 and 82 from the blues.
This is a course that should never get missed by any player or group passing by the island. I guarantee it will be one to remember.
Good course
Crown Isle is a good quality golf course that could be that much better with proper sand in the sand traps.
Crown isle
Crown isle golf course for this time of year is in good condition and what a good rate offered by golf now, the only thing I have to say is that crown isle need to put sand in their bunkers this has been a problem now for a number of years
Nice course
A lovely and challenging course. Nice to see a bit of sand in the bunkers.
Great course
I love playing this course , it has such a nice range of tee boxes. The only thing i didn't like was the difference in yardage on tee box signs and scorecard on some holes. I found this could be a little confusing. We were met at our car by cart to deliver us and our clubs to pro shop and our bags were put on cart for us.:) Very friendly staff !
Awesome golf course.
Course was in excellent shape.
Top level service from proshop staff.
Stsff
Staff friendliness and helpfulness is outstanding!
Can be better!
The fairways were good, but the greens had been recently punched, so we're quite bad.
When the greens are good, it's an excellent course!
Greens
We played as a foursome in a best ball format (2 vs. 2). I always remembered this course to be top notch with fast greens and beautiful fairways. I was disappointed in the punched greens and made for a not so great putting day. Would prefer a disclaimer that greens are punched. However, course was as awesome as I remember it otherwise. Fairways didn't seem to be kept very well. Must have been coming out of the winter season a little late.
